This Climate control problem has got me stumped like there'* no tomorrow...

Problem: In hot weather (say 85 ish) I use the A/C and in recirculate mode. Well, when it finally switches over to recirculate mode (takes like 15 seconds after pressing the damn button), the air output isn't strong unless I make a left turn (and I have to be moving too, it won't make a difference if I just turn the steering wheel while parked). Plus, here'* another thing: After a while recirculate will just turn itself off and the ECC unit goes back to "uncirculate" or fresh outside air mode.

Some things I think might be involved in the problem: Perhaps a loose set of vacuum lines at the back of the ECC unit. I was also thinking the door that contols recirc. might not be fully closing (bad actuator maybe) and perhaps it'* flopping around during turns. That might explain the full air pressure when the car is making a left turn. My last thought is the system needs to be cleaned which would make the air flow stronger (saw the info in the TECHINFO section about this).

WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK? Am I on the right track or not even close?

Sounds like some logical reasoning already. That'* exactly the path I'd take for diagnosis, including cleaning the evap core.

Assuming we're talking about the electronic A/C control, the "damn 15-second delay" is actually a 20-second purge, during which time the controller blows stale air out the floor vents before going to its final setting.

The fact that a left turn gets you improved cooling (I'm guessing here that it doesn't change the quantity of airflow, but _does_ give you a faceful of cold air at last) suggests to me that you're low on refrigerant. I think you have an R134a A/C system in your '95 car, so you can get refill/recharge kits at Wal-Mart. (Lucky you. )

ITYM jealousy...

(Remembering the good ol' days when you could pick up cans of Freon as easily as you can get R134a these days... )

No, I'm not low on refrigerant. The pressure of the air diminishes during one turn and increases the opposite way. Anyways, I've figured out what the problem is. the motor is on it'* way out. It'* been acting up I've noticed. I smack the back of the motor, and the power comes back for awhile. Sometimes it won't even start until I smack the motor itself.

Oh, the _blower_ motor! Of course.

Count yer blessin'*; it could have been a lot more expensive to fix...
