Default Help with 92 bonneville not starting....

My bonneville died about an month ago. Jumped it, started fine and ran fine for a couple weeks after that. Then, it died again, and I couldn't get it jumped. Bought a battery and put that in, and it fired up and ran fine for a bit. Then it died again and I started hearing a clicking from the passenger side. I pulled out the power mirror fuse and that made the clicking go away and I was able to jump the car and it ran fine for a couple days. It'* since died again and I can't get it to stop clicking. I replaced the relay, which was the one on the passenger side. It seemed like there were two relays on the upper right side of the fuse block over on that side and the one that is clicking is the lower one. So, my question is, what does that relay do, and what are suggestions to get the car started again. It seems like something is shorting out and draining the battery. Thanks.

Any check engine lights or low voltage indications from the gauge?

First suggestion would be to remove and clean all ends of all battery cables. Ensure you remove the rubber boots at the battery and check for corrosion underneath.

No check engine lights or anything like that. I put in new terminals when I put in the new battery and everything is pretty clean on the battery cable end of things.

We can hold off on the alternator checking. This will not keep a car from starting. Even bound up..the car should start with a squealing and smoking belt issue.

That is only if there is enough juice in the battery to make the car start. The battery may just not have enough to make the car start, hence why he may be having to jump it continuosly.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm not sure if the starter is working properly, I'm assuming it is. As for there being enough juice in the battery, this last time I had the battery charged at autozone before I put it back in and it still didn't start or even try for that matter when the battery had a full charge. My main concern is why is that relay clicking and what does it do? The relay is pretty much constantly clicking, with or without the key in the ignition.

How can you be unsure if the starter is working? Does the motor turn, but not start? Or not turn?

If it turns, forget the starter and battery. You have a fuel or spark issue.
If it doesn't turn, you have a starter/battery/ignition switch issue.

Which is it?

Well, it seems the starter is working fine. One of the batterys I was using turns out it was bad even though it'* only a year old, so AutoZone gave me a new one. As I was going to put that one in I noticed there was a ton of corrosion on the positive lead on both cables. The first time I replaced the battery it was in the dark and I didn't notice the corrosion. I'm betting that was what the problem was as it would make sense that it would kill the battery after a while. I left the relay that was clicking unplugged just in case that had anything to do with. After the car started I took it to Autozone to get the system tested, everything seemed fine except the tester said the peak amps was 44amps. That seems kinda low to me, but I'm not sure. So hopefully the problem is fixed, but I guess I'll see in a week or so if it dies again. Thanks for all the replies.
