Default Dash Lights, brake lights non working

Hey i'm having another problem and i can't seem to find my solution

The other day i get into my car at night and my whole dash lights were not working. Whatever is gages, climate controls and trans gear lights, everything is out.
My ABS light is on, and my compass works fully, my other screen which shows car and warning works, my traction control light works...its basically just speedometor light, rpm light, and all other small gages...
Even my brake lights at night are not working.

apart from that when i pull and turn the light switch to the max, which turns on the interior lighting, that works, but apart from that the switch will not turn my lights on...
My daylights are on in the front, so i don't get it...anybody could help me please? It would be very, very appriciated so at least i know what i have to do.

Thank you very much!!

Bruno

have you pulled the dash cluster out to check the connections?

next step would be the ground buss connector

i dont mean to sound like a total noob but i haven't played with my car a lot, it was in the garage for more than half the time i've had it...when you mean the dash cluster you mean that peice of plastic that covers the speedometor and that goes all to way to the climate controls?

and what exactly is the ground buss connector?

Sry again for being a noob, but i mean...

Thanks a mil for your time btw...

I would suggest the 2nd link Haro posted first as brake lights etc would most likely be a ground issue. The cluster may be a symptom of the rest.

Alright so i finally got a bit of time to look into it, and the fuse that controls brake and hazard lights keeps popping, thats my problem...does this help to try and find an clear cause or even solution?
I checked all wires that go through to the trunk for the brake lights, there doesn't seem to be any short there...
The thing is when i meter it it gives me feedback, but nothing enough to proove theres a real short anywhere...

Anybody? :(

i alreay got a ticket...next time it'* impound...and i work until 9 at nights so its hard to not get caught...

Go into the center console..there is an illumination wire that may be pinched in the shifter.
