Default Keyless Entry Alarm

I have a 97' SSEi 40th Edition. It has 2 key fobs I don't think I have ever heard the alarm go off by trying to open the doors with a key while the system is engaged. My problem is the horn beeping and flashing lights at 2AM for no apparent reason. This has happened about 4 times in the last year. Whether I lock the car with the Fob or by the automatic door button, it doesn't matter the alarm goes off random. I have replaced the Fob battery'* and it doesn't help. Can I just disconnect the horn from this system? Any idea'* would be helpfull. Thanks

Possibly yes. But it would be better to fix the problem.

Have you ran a 'Bong Test' yet?

No I have not tried the bong test, it'* seems quite extensive and what if you don't get a bong when cycling through the systems, is it the Mall module or a component. Really I just don't want to here the horn blowing at 2AM anymore.

you would need a Tech2 to program out your car horn for the alarm. Even if you could get a dealership to do that they will still highly suggest you fix the route cause of this problem.

The bong test is really not that hard to do. Take your time.....

If your not willing to try this than it will be hard for us to help you.

I suppose you could just pull your horn relay and or fuse. But that is not recommended!

TECH2 would be needed to turn off the factory alarm its in the personalize options, 5 min at most.

It'* problem a door pin going bad. Its just an annoyance.

I'll see if I can find the step by step instructions to turn off the factory alarm I did it with my grand prim when I put an alarm on it. I took the easy way out turning off the bonnevilles with our tech2
