Blower Motor dying? or is it the resistor?
I need to replace my blower motor, I haven't looked at it yet but i have lost like 98% of the power from my heating/air. I can still feel it but its literally non existent. Before this happened I would feel it, then it went out and if I knocked the dash it would pick up a little but go back out. Is there any way to check to make sure its not the resistor? I checked prices online and the resistor is like 152 dollars compared to 57 for the motor? any tips or help is GREATLY appreciated

To rule out the blower motor, connect 2 wires from the battery directly to the blower. If it runs, then the motor is good.
Now remove the resistor from the air duct that's on the engine firewall. Test it using a multimeter. If it's ok, I would look at the speed controller on the dash panel. BTW, what year and model is this? |
wow thank you in advance for the help.. Its a 2005 Bonneville GXP with 86,000 miles on it.. I have a feeling that the motor will still turn since i feel a little(barely anything) air coming out. Should I pay attention to the speed at which the motor turns at? Like if it looks slow and barely turning at all, should i just replace the motor? I'm really praying its the motor haha thanks again
