Default Alternator Connections - Voltage Regulator Type

Does anyone know the Pin Connectors (PLFS) and there purpose for an Alternator on a '99 Bonn SSEI. I need to know if the (I/F) Pin is an I-Type or F-Type.

Thanks...

The connection is for the regulated signal from the PCM to manage the field in the alternator for the proper output.

I'm out the door to a SuperBowl party, so I don't have time to give you the pinouts. Someone with a FSM will chime in shortly.

Looking at the end of the connector, with the tab on top.

First cavity on left is not used.
Second cavity from left is a red wire Generator Field Duty Signal
Third cavity is a gray wire Genertor Output - Regulator Reference Voltage
Fourth cavity is not used.

Thanks Bill.

Both of those wires go to the PCM. One for control, the other for feedback.

Thanks Guys, and "ALL Due Respect to you that are in the Know",but I still didn't get my question answered. I know that the "I/F" pin does not get used on a Bonneville, but it does get used on other GM Cars. I need to know if I can supply 12V to it from the PCM or If it sends the 12V'* to the PCM. I could destroy the Regulator if I don't know this first.

If I put it on a '96 Pontiac Sunfire will it burn to the Ground ? LOL...
Thanks....

L is the far left. I believe F was the third. I can check for you tonight. Sorry, should have referenced the pin labels.

Go to the following link (page 39 - 4th paragraph) )and you'll see why I'm wanting to know more than the Pins tell me here. The Sunfire uses the F and L pins. The Bonneville uses the L and * pins. The * senses for the Bonny and I believe the F senses for the Sunfire. L is only for the Lamp light. You're going to make me devulge my secret if this keeps going. Thanks for staying with me on this...

We already know your secret, and it'* been done before. Even in a cavalier and a 2-door Grand Am.

So tell us SPECIFICALLY what you're starting with, or we can't help you. What you have, what you're trying to do. Secrets don't help in troubleshooting.
