Okay, so ive got an 89 SSE Bonnie with an inoperable set of interior lights. i checked and the fuse is not blown, in fact i have had the fuse out for a while now because it kept pissing me off.

All functions work normally, the come on when the doors open, and close, and they respond to the switch in the dash. NOW my issue is that they appear to be wired into a WEIGHT sensor in my seat, or at least their behaviour could be explained as such. depending on how i sit in the drivers seat, they will be either on or off, without my intention. this is an issue, because i have left my car overnight only to find a dead battery in the morning because the lights where on the whole time. I havent had the chance to take a look under my seat, but logic dictates that the interior lights would have nothing to do with my power seats, considering how they are on a different system, and work despite the interior light fuse being removed.

I didnt have this problem with my first Bonnie of identical specs, and thus far, havent been able to find an explanation anywhere.

Is it possible it'* been rewired by the last owner? having the fuse out and still working leads me to believe this is the case.

Im not sure, the last owner was a bit of a redneck from what i hear. from what i can see the only thing he replaced was the deck.

ill take a look but im completely stumped. when the fuse is out, half of the functions on the power seats work, just your general up down forward back, and recline. its the funky lumbar, and headreast setups that are dead. and the whole issue of my lights. pulling the fuse has killed the lights permenantly, but im at a complete loss to understand it, and wouldnt mind having them work again, with it being winter and only having like 5 hours of sunlight up here lol.

C'mon.. you gotta give us a better one than that. This is probably easy.

Pull back the carpet by the drivers door sill and check the ground buss. It'll be a rectangle taped to the wire loom. Most likely it'* corroded and the power is seeking out other methods of grounding based on the circuit. It'* possible dpending on how you sit that theres added pressure on the buss causing it to make a connection.

You like the theory..you know you do. The question is...am I right?
