Default bad coil ?

hi im lost and need a little help my 1992 sse had no spark on the 1 and 4 coil. changed out the coil pack and steel no spark on the 1 and 4 all the rest are working good thanks

look at the wiring for you ICM and if all is well have your ICM tested

ign control module(what the coils are sitting on), you can have it tested at some parts stores, and inspect the wiring to it.

ok i will give it a try thanks for the info i was thinking it was like the ECU inside under the dash yes no maybe ? what do you think about that? the car has always dune strange things like the gauge thing it seems like all 92,* get a bad ground thing going on i can live with all that but not running that not so much thanks for all the help

If the problem was with the ECU you would have issues with more than cyl 1 and 4. I think Dakota is right about the ignition control module, or the electrical connection to the ignition control module, being the likely suspects.

yes after taking the IMC off and getting a good look at it it looks like it has seen better days so im off to try and get one thanks so much for all your help

jest thinking out loud my icm is a magnavox type 1 i have all the parts for a type 2 icm and coils and the plug is that something to think about maybe as a upgrade what do you think about that ?

Go look on RockAuto for almost any part, and you'll see three or four manufacturers who all make the same thing.

As far as I know, there was only one style of ICM for the 3800 Series engines. If the connector looks the same, and the ICM looks the same, and the coils look the same, I'm willing to bet it'll work.
