Default The interior lights doesn't go out. Pls help.

After closing the doors and locking the car the lights of inerior doesn't go out. Not big prob in the summer but in winter may suck up all juice from the battery, especially if there are cold nights. For temporary removed Fuse 6A and there are no more lights of interior at the moment. Wonder if it is the rele fucked up or something else. Checked all fuses inside and outside (under the hood) seems to be ok.
Are there any cables runnig under the drivers floor mat, it is slightly wet, could wires be affected?
And didn't see any nipples that shut down the lights afted being presses by the closing doors. Are these integrated inside the locks in the doors, or some other magnetic wonder?
Please advise, and so sorry to bother on such a wonderfull weekend.

Thanks
LT

I'm assuming one of your door switches may be shorted internally. I don't have your year of the FSM to look it up, so someone else is going to have to pounce on this.

I'll move it to the Electrical section for greater visibility.

Ok..i recently had an instance that caused the lights to stay on. In your doors is a switch that detects when the handle is lifted and turns the lights on. My door had been replaced by the previous owner and apparently a body shop that knew very little.

If you pull the door panel, there is a switch in each door, they are a black switch with a slider that hooks into the outside handle of the door. According to the manual they close when the handle is lifted. There is a plug in each door that you should be able to unplug one at a time instead of having to test each one.

This is probably where I would start.
