Default Question about a moonroof

I just picked up a 95 bonnie SE and it has a moon roof but I don't know if its a stock moon roof or what, its got this funky looking toggle switch right next to the driving lights switch and theres no sun shade that I can see, also it doesn't seem to work no matter what I do to the switch, anyone have any suggestions?

judd, Welcome to BC. This may be an aftermarket roof, not having a sunshade is a clue. Or the roof is oem, but sunshade is missing. Is the toggle switch oem or an add on? I assume you do not have an owners manual. Need to locate the fuse that supplies the moon roof & check same. GH'* with more 92-95 experience will chime in.

If the switch is in the same plastic piece as the map light and fog switch, then it is aftermarket.

Typically the fuses/wiring for such are running down the driverside fron pillar next ot the windshield. From there you can usually trace them to the back of the fuse box.

Default ah

I do see a lone wire just hanging there under the dash on the drivers side, and yeah the switch is in the map light panel, on a custom job like that is there anyway to get a sunshade? also would you guys know a good way to get replacement weather striping for it? the wind noise is very annoying.

oh and I forgot its a 1995 Bonneville SE as near as I can figure, as it has no badging. a couple of those VIN lookup sites said it was an SE.

Alright then, that would be an SE with the H4U aka SLE option package. If you look at your spare tire cover you should see a code H4U.

Take a look at the glass and try to see if there'* a manufacturer name on it. Maybe you can figure out what brand it is that way.

On that wire..I'd trace it up to the switch to ensure that'* what it is.

I don't see anything to indicate this has the SLE package?

Irregardless, it doesn't matter considering the problem at hand. You need to identify the moonroof before going further.

ah.. I will look in to that, the wire thats hanging down is coming from the drivers side kickpanel and it has an inline fuse holder thats empty it might be for the moonroof, I'd go out right now but the santa ana winds just kicked up, 20-30MPH winds and its in the low 50s out there.

also heading to the junk yard today to find some replacement interior parts, and to help my friends with there car part hunting. hey do you guys know where the keyless entry receiver would be and if my car might have it? I got no info at all on this car. I might be able to snag a receiver off of one at the junkyard

We need interior and exterior pics of your sunroof, and another of the switch.
