Alarm Going Crazy Randomly

So the alarm is going crazy in my car.

Went off once at 2am for no apparent reason. Goes off during the day for no apparent reason. Goes off when you open a door, trunk, anything. (That only happens sometimes, but damn it's annoying, cause it ALWAYS happens in the most embarassing places).

The key fob shuts it off, but why the hell is it going off in the first place?

Everything is being done normally lock/unlock via the remote...

Is this the factory alarm or an after market unit?

Stockness.

Mine would do that when ever I use(d) the power locks to lock the car; needless to say I don't use them anymore but the very samething happens to me.

Ever have damp carpet? Maybe the BUSS connector needs a cleaning?

If nobody takes care of you before I get home, I will look to see what the FSMs say on the topic.

Of course, I already know that the FSMs will want you to check connections and wiring of any aftermarket electronics.

I like this suggestion....

We had some serious water leaking problems, and the rear carpets would be soaked for days after a heavy rain. The leak has been since fixed though, so no more future soakings.

Where is this connector you speak of?

Under the door trim plate. There is one on both the driver's and passenger sides. The driver's side seems to be the one that members have more problems with

There have been many recent threads that have some good pics, but I haven't searched for them yet.

I appreciate the breakthrough and will look into this as soon as I can.

Thanks!

Similar problem to your description and the ground buss was the culprit...good luck.
