It'* a no-no everywhere (federal law/US Code), but it will depend on how much the locals care about it.

Interesting...I was under the impression that each state was responsible for their own road laws, and US/Federal law only came into play on interstate traffic, or violations. Perhaps we should start a new thread to debate and/or discuss this??

When I was an MP, and somebody really ticked us off, we could always fall back on US Code

There are some things that go to the fedral level, just for conformity and safety. Lights may not be one of them, I haven't had that magic book for years, but as a general rule, Law Enforcement types are very particular about what color flashing lights are on your vehicle.

since this thread was made i went on the highway and to test the "flashing blue light theory" i hit the hazards and had a car move outta the way and onto the shoulder. since this has happened i have removed the lights. even though the lights are not fast strobing or alternating they cause awareness to get outts the way as they are blue flashing lights.

My question is, are the bulbs tinted blue? or do they actually light up blue? If they are tinted blue there and glow white, yellow, orange you should be fine. But if they have a blue light when lit it'* just a matter of time before you get ticketed.
