1993 SSEi Instrumental Panel
I love my 1993 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi. However, last week my instrument panel started going crazy. I put it in the shop, they put in a new battery that worked until the next day. They found a new instrument panel, however, it wasn’t for the supercharger. We thought it was a short or something. We drove it around and all the gages started working except for the Electronic Compass and the Driver Information Center. Would finding the correct instrument panel correct this problem or is there something else that might need to be checked.

Hmmm, does the 93 have the bus ground along the front door panel? I can't remember. If it does you will need to lift the carpet and there will be a block that has all the grounds on it. Some times these get corroded and can cause some funny problems. There are other members that know that year better then me.

Hello Judy Ann I have a 1993 SSEI with the same problem - the only way is to replace the instrument panel with a new 1993 SSEI panel - its pretty easy to do once you drop down the steering wheel (2 bolts) I've done everything that was told on here and nothing could fix it. but once you get a new instrument panel from the Dealership, you will see the difference -

I also have been through the cluster issues. The SSE and SSEI models are known for this, from 1992 to 1995.I sent my cluster in to a place called Mr Whizard, and for $199 they go through it,and offer a 2 year warranty.I did it last October, and it works like a dream.Every problem I had in the cluster is gone
