95 Bonneville SSEI electrical short?
I have a leak that is probably coming from inside the front passenger door but I haven't had the nerve to pull the inside trim yet. I'm not confident that I can put it back without a problem. But I wonder if that is causing the next problem. The other problem is that my instrument cluster to the right and including the display for the doors, tail, lamps , etc. have been dropping out. They will either all function properly or not at all. Sometimes when I step on the brake they all will come back on. My question is does anyone know the location of all of the grounding straps. I have cleaned the grounding bus on both front doors. Also, I have the service manuals if anyone has any suggestions that might be found there.

A short would blow a fuse. What you are describing is a loose connection. I would inspect the harness that supplies power to the instrument cluster. Since it'* affecting the right half, there may be a bad solder joint on the cluster itself. You're either losing supply voltage or the ground return to cause the drop out.
When you step on the brake pedal and they come back, is the vehicle in motion or not?

It is in motion but it is always random to a point. When I start the car the gauges are usually dead but sometimes when I step on the brake, say when approaching a stop sign they all fire up. At this point if I were to turn the ignition off and back on they would still be functional but the next day when I start the car they will usually not be function.
