Default Changing trunk lid tail lights 97-99

Got a tail light out in the trunk lid? How do I get to them you ask? Well, you need to remove the light bar to do this. The only tool you will need is a 10mm socket with a extension and a socket wrench.

first thing you will need to do is open the trunk lid. Take you 10mm socket and remove the 4 bolts, 2 on each side.

You may need to open up the outside of the plastic shield. To do this you push in the center tab with a small screwdriver. Then you can gently pry it open.

You will need to locate the 1 hidden bolt. It'* located just to the right of center under the trunk liner on the lid. I removed the plastic shroud to show this better. You do not need to remove this shroud.

Now lift off the light bar. There will be wires attached on the drivers side. Simply flip it over and lay it down.

Now locate the burned out bult. Grasp the white socket between your fingers and turn it counter clockwise about 1/8 of a turn. The socket and bulb should then lift out.

Remove the bulb by grasping the socket (not by the wires) in one hand, and the bulb in the other hand. It will simply pull out. You do not twist it

Now insert the new bulb in the socket in the same manner. Put the socket back in the light bar and turn clockwise about 1/8 turn. You should feel a slight click. Got turn on the ignition to ensure the new light is working. Now place the light bar back on the trunk and put all 5 bolts back together.
