Default Blower motor removal 97

Before removing the motor, make sure it'* not a bad fuse.

Or a bad relay.

Remove the cross bar.

You will then want to move any sensors out of the way, such at the MAP bracket.

The blower motor is on the firewall behind the engine and under the maxifuse area. Removing the maxifuse cover will give you a bit more room to get the blower motor out.

Unplug the blower motor, you should find this at about the 8 O clock position.

Below the plug there is a hose, dosconnect that.

Remove the 5 screws holding the cover in place, then lay the cover down below the blower motor. The blower motor will now come out. You will need to do a little twisting to get it to fit.

Now you can either install a new motor, or test the one you have.

Here is what the motor looks like removed from the car.

Testing is easy. Find the two terminals, shown here. Apply 12vdc. If the motor spins, it'* OK, if not, replace it.

Then reverse the procedure to put the motor back in. make sure you check all your wires and vacuum lines in case you knocked one loose.
