Default aftermarker headlamps

1 have a 2000 ssei , the headlights are extremely cloudy and wish to replace them. After calling all local salvage yards i struck out on finding used replacements. Are the GM lenses subject to clouding although i live in Mass. so 7 years of road salting did not help either. Are the aftermarket equivilents good or do i have to spend the big bucks on OEM? Also my cars color is champagne. Does anyone know the paint code for this or where to find it? Thanks to all whom reply! Bonnies rule!

Hi Howard, first I'll move this to Detailing & Appearance section for you as it is not a mechanical question.

and yes the 2000+ lenses tend to get foggy looking. and is mostly on the inside due to the heat of the lamps.kinda like tiny cracks.

I have seen the aftermarket HL on cars (you can find them on ebay) and they look just like them except the drivers side doesn't say bonneville on it.

to find your paint code look at the spare tire cover. you will see a label on it that gives you all that information.

by the way, I live in Quincy,ma. where are you from?

I've been looking for a set of new ones on ebay (for when I can afford them). The aftermarket ones range from $200 a set to $289 a set. I'm not sure why one set is so much more than the other, but I'm sure all are excellent replacements.
