Will this work

I am thinking about putting 17x7.5 Chrome wheels off an 03' SLE onto my 1995 SLE that currently has 16" rims. Will these fit on my car with proper tires?

harofreak00 05-16-2007 03:40 PM

yes, and they will look great.. ask JWikoff :D

I got 17 Buick rims on minr they fit great, look great, and rub a little to 22-55-17 from a 225-60-16, so you got a afit.

You will not regret it. I recommend the 5 spoke chrome wheels.

I currently have 16" ghetto golds now..what size tires would i want to put on these rims to make them match exact size, as in i've heard if you change the actual size of the tire you lose speed calibration (ie Speedometer will be off)

harofreak00 05-16-2007 07:13 PM

what size tires do you have on there right now?

225/60R16

I used that calculator you linked me (Thanks a lot! :D ) and figured out with toying around that I need 245/50R17 for the new rims, tell me if I'm right/wrong..

I was looking at Bridgestone Potenza RE050...what does everyone think? Any suggestions otherwise?

ChilinMichael 05-16-2007 08:27 PM

After much thought, 225/55R17 are VERY close to the original tire, the calculator indicates that at 60mph i will be doing 60.3 .. big deal. Why you ask? Well the other tires that exact match cost about double, also leave very few tires to choose from.

J Wikoff 05-16-2007 09:31 PM

235/55R17 is what I have. You can get Pirelli PZero Nero M&S for $100 each said and done.

I have looked around and pretty much selected these tires:
