Default 1997 Interior Lighting

i have a 1997 SE. i just finally finished installing my stereo system today and now want to move onto lighting. i want to replace my stock bulbs with red bulbs (going along with the theme of the dash and gauge colors). i don't want to get into neons and extra lighting. i want to replace the footwell lights, map lights, glove compartment lights, trunk lights, courtesy lights (on doors), and the lights above the rear seats next to the grab handles. all i want to do is replace the stock clear bulbs with red ones. could somebody please list each thing i want to replace with it'* size so i can know what size bulbs i need to buy how and many? also has anyone replaced their stock bulbs with colored ones? how hard is it? huge thanks to anyone that can give me the bulb sizes

I'm pretty sure the footwells are 194. I've had green in them for 3 years; no fading.

You can take your bulbs out and look at the numbers on them but sometimes the numbers wear away over time.

your parts store should have the info you need...but I suggest taking the bulbs out and looking. I did mine not to long ago and it wasn't all that hard to do. The parts stores wont always have your sizes in red, though...the top ones in back are different than the map lights...and don't try and replace them with ones that dont fit directly. My biggest problem was finding the light doors in red, I ended up just painting my light covers red from the inside and it works fine for me (for the door lights). Most of them say the bulb number and many parts stores will allow you to go test the fit when you're purchasing.

Grab the stock bulbs, carry them to your parts store, use the stockers as a guide for the replacements...
