Taking off the chrome on an 99 SE
I have an IDEA and would like to know if its possible to take the chrome moulding out of the bodymoulding without destroying it?

Yes you can remove it. It'* held on by adhesive, just some careful prying and patience will get it out. Heat will help a lot also. However simply removing it will look sub-par. You could custom fill the gap with something then paint it (I've never seen it done, just an idea, someone'* gotta try everything once). You can buy material that is like a wide pinstripe and with some careful trimming you could apply that over the chrome moulding. Either black, body, or accent color would all work. You can do the same for the trim over the doors. Goodluck!

Why don't you just get the black trim to replace the chrome? All Bonnevilles got either one or the other. Probably 200-300 bucks from GMPD for all the pieces.

Thats toooo much.
I could buy the vinyl decals for $70 for a 2ftx5ft sheet... That might be pushing it still too.
This is not a priority... just a thought for later
I still need to do the Tranny flush and filter, fuel filter and figure out why I still have what I think is wheel hop, and fix that too.
