Default Wash at home or car wash...

Do you guys like washing your car at home or at the car wash. If you do it at the car wash is it by hand or automatic.

Personnally I was at home then go to the car wash to apply the wax. I like it better.

I do both. Either at home with a long-handled soft bristle brush, or at a 'soft cloth' auto wash.

Winter, carwash do it yourself style.
Summer, hand wash with wool mitt.

ditto

If my car ever saw an automatic car wash, I could just imagine it screaming

"You never told me there would be days like this!!!"

Usually both. But if its a car wash, its a DIY car wash with the power washer.

I used to carwash only, till I started reading some detail forums about how evil a car wash brush can be to your paint. Now a car wash is merely a heavy dirt sprayoff, using only the power washer, and the rest is done here at home.

In fact, I remember reading one detailers signature that said" the only things that touch my car are soft and wet"

i never use the brush here at any of the car washes because you get all the farmers washing out their stock trailers with them.
