for some odd reason i dont know if its just me or just the pearl or what.

but if i dont wash the car constanly i get these orange red looken spots. they were just in a couple of spots but now it seems to of spread all over the car.if i rub hard enough they to come off. i just dont know what its caused from. i thought it was like bug guts or somthing but now it like winter so thats ruled out ill try to get some pictures up tomarrow. maybe difficult but ill do what i can do

any help would be great

hmm, i would try a claybar to see if the problem goes away. but maybe its something up in michigan since you both are from there?

i had a white 95 that was doin it, i was told by a detail shop, that it was particles fromt he brakes settling themselves on the clear coat, and rusting...

I'm with Golden Bullet as well in that a clay bar is a good first step. Rust spots need to be removed quickly. The rust can stain down through the clear coat and into the color paint if left on the car.

If a claybar does not work the next step is to use scratch X in an attempt to remove the rust stain.

Once the stain is removed you will need to wax the area to protect the clearcoat.

thanks guys for the info. now that i know it prolly is rust sitten on there. ill be taken my car to the quarter wash more often. winter just sucks all together.

ill also give the claybar a try.

I heard once that those can be caused if you live by a train track, it had a name for it but i can't remember...

Firedevil was on the right track. It'* what is commonly referred to as "rail dust". I think it comes originally from areas with a lot of railways. It'* when tiny particles of metal dust adhere to the paint. It'* from things like the brakes, other car'* brakes, and often industrial areas where metal dust is. Once it sticks to the paint it eventually rusts. Several years ago both my wife and I had white cars and they were terrible at getting rail dust. I'm sure our darker cars now do as well, but you don't see it as much. Though I can see it at times in the bronze part of the paint on my wife'* suv.

Anyway, as said, a clay bar should take care of it. When we had the white cars I had never heard of a clay bar and tried just washing it off or even using tar remover and it was awful.

Agreed 100% so i will definetly pick up one of these clay bars now only to find out where to get one by me
