Default PAINTING RUSTY HUBS

Hi,

I am tired of looking at the rust-covered hubs on my '05 GXP. I was told to buy Eastwood Manifold paint, which would hold up to the heat and act as a rust inhibitor.
Has anybody done this to their car? Sould I buy the paint in a spray or brush?
It may be a silly question, but I have never done something like this before, and I want the wheels to look nice-but I do not want to damage the rotors.

Thanks!

I'm also interested in a solution for this, since my hubs are also rusted up.

I used black barbeque grill paint from Home Depot and a sponge brush to paint the hubs. I didn’t prep it and did it about 18 months ago. Looked great for a long time, but about a month ago I noticed that it is starting to flake off on the rear rotors, so I guess it’* time to hit it again.

Hi-temp header paint works great.

Hit the nasty areas with some scotchbrite, spray down with brake clean allow to dry and paint.

I like to apply one light coat allowing it to sit for about 45 mins (depending on outside temp) and then apply another complete coat.

Available at any parts house.

X2 to the BBQ paint. I used the spray can variety well over a year ago. Nothing was rusty, i just didnt like the red calipers and bare rotors. Thought it detracted from the looks of my chrome wheels. Pressure washed it all and hit it with the paint. A little overspray on the brake contact surface came off with the first ride.

I really like it. It stands up to the heat, has a very flat stealth sort of finish that doesnt scream that its there. I did everything up with it. Alloy front end parts and all. I just want peoples attention on my wheels and not all that'* in there.
