Temporary Car Paint and nose shield
Anybody seen this stuff yet?

Car Art Temporary Paint gives you the ability to apply vehicle graphics from an aerosol can. This is the newest and coolest way to add temporary paint to any car, truck or van. Plus Car Art Temporary Paint has many residential, commercial and recreational uses. Decorate home windows for the Holidays or spray lines on concrete or asphalt for sporting events. It dries in less than a minute, and it won’t wash off in the rain. Not to worry, it leaves no residue on the surface to which it’s applied. Cleaning up Car Art is a snap — just use soap, water and a sponge or power wash it off Sounds like fun, but I'm not brave enough to try it on my paintjob. At least it's from a major name in touch-up paint....who's going to try it? |

Bet it's expensive too. |

I was going to put a huge Pontiac Emblem on my hood for WCBF as a gag with it. Didn't have the time, so it didn't happen.

i have a feeling that it would only work on good condition, GLOSSY paint...

I wouldn't have cared. The hood needs to be reprimed/sealed again before paint anyway.

They have this stuff to (No I don't work for duplicolor, just facinated with the concept)

This might be nice protection for the driving vacation or winter, but only if it really comes off without marring the paint at all. This i might actually try on the wifes truck, to see how it reacts to the paint over a extended period of time. (she's due for a repaint of the nose anyways) |
Here's something better than that stuff...............
http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3..._the/Consumer/ It's a plastic film like window tint, but clear. It comes in different thickness' 3, 6 & 9 Mil. You can wax right over it and it protects your paint from stone chips etc. I learned about it from a friend who had a sponsored show car & it was his daily driver as well. He swore by it and wanted to wrap his whole car in it, but it is expensive, around $200-$300 (Canadian $) to do the Front of the hood, bumper & skirt. Personally I would rather use the film, than trust a paint which may or may not come off. Dutch |
