Default Swap right bucket cover to left?

Hey,
Noob here and have a question. I have a 97 SE and the driver bucket seat cloth is pretty well hammered. Can I take the cover from a donor right seat and install on the left bucket?

Thanks great site with lots of info!

I sent a PM to Danthurs to ask him to look at your question. He has a 97.

I can't say for sure, but I believe the seats should be the same. So if you take the leather cover off a donor seat and then replace the cloth cover, that should work.

Danthurs and I talked offline and we both feel the left seat cushion cover from the other car should fit the driver seat in your car, if both cars are the same year.

There are two differences. Any seat controls on non-AL7 seats would have holes for them on the right side of the seat cover, which would be against the console (since we are talking buckets). That shouldn't be an issue. The only issue would be the strap for the seat belt. There'* a piece that holds the belt buckle in place for you at the seat. It'* not overly obtrusive or ugly and would likely be confused by most as "the way they made the cover".

Probably yes, but you will have all the seat controls trapped up against the console. Swap the ones you have in the car now to find out for sure.
