Could a column shifter be converted into a floor shifter?
Hey guys, I really like the look and style of a floor shifter. Is it possible to convert my column shifter into a floor shifter? I'm guessing no but I'm asking anyway. I have a bench seat and I really like them. I was thinking maybe cut a center console in half and move the shifter up a few inches from its factory location (floor shifter on SSEis). Yes or no? I was just wondering.
Fuel.
PS: I know it'* prolly not possible.

Damn, I assumed you could just remove the shifter then close up the hole with factory plastic covers from other Bonnies. Then reroute the cable.
Damn it.
Say Jimmy, do you attend RIT?
If so, I'm going there in the fall

Yes, I am graduating from RIT in the spring, but will probably be around here working after I graduate. CorvetteCrazy Also goes here and just started this year as a freshman. Let me know if you come up for any open houses or any of that.

"Run away now Geoff. He'* coming. "
Hilarious Actually, I already went to the Nov 11th open house and I'm already accepted. Now all I have to do is fill out my housing forms, etc. I don't know my student ID number because my acceptance form and housing etc needs the ID number and I don't think I got it.
No biggie. I'm going to RIT through NTID.
Nice to know I can meet two fellow Bonnevillians.

Hmm, I'll have to give that some thought, my bench is cloth and I prefer to keep it all cloth so I hope they have cloth buckets available. The transmisson is changed by a cable right, not by a electronic control? Doing an interior swap is not too hard is it?

Cloth buckets do exist. Other thing that might be questionable is if all the mouting studs exist in the floor of the bench cars. After seeing the changes in engine compartment from 90 to 97 I would think they didn't make any distinctions in floor pan, except where the shifter itself mounts and that might even exist.
