Default Extra harness required for DDM 55w HIDs?

I just bought a set of 6000k 55W HIDs from DDMTuning. One of the options was for a harness, which was *recommended* for 55w setups. Do you guys think I really NEED the harness, or is it just there for peace of mind? What advantages does it offer? (It looked like it gave the ballasts power directly from the battery, as opposed to drawing power from the original bulb wires.

the hids draw a good bit of startup current so if your stock wires arent designed for it you need the relay kit. if the ballast already gets its power from the battery it shouldnt be necessary

I recommend it for the 55W kits. 35W is all up to the individual preference, but best to go safe when moving up. Don't want no electrical fires or nothing.

I have it for my 35w bulbs, but that'* only because Yutzy provided them...and they're needed with my setup.

My fog lights however do not use it.
