Default Retrofitting

I was speaking to Looong about HID lights.

I am buying a brand new pair of headlights online, the whole thing. Mine are very sandblasted and worn down so I agreed to purchase new ones.

Looong told me he installed HID lights in his car. He also told me it was a pain for him to try to retrofit. I'm sure it was. However, I WILL be looking to retrofit as long as I can get enough information as to how. I was referred to a website but I couldn't find any pictures or information as to how they did it, so I figured I would seek some help for those of you who have done it or may know how.

I will be purchasing 6000K HID lights regardless of whether I can retrofit or not but I will have new headlights to work on. I don't know how long this process will take but I will be back at college on January 15th and I really don't want to have to bring them back there and work on them. I will if I have to. I love my car.

So any help, any guides, any full walkthroughs on how to retrofit I would really appreciate. Equipment, where to buy, things like that would also help me a lot. I don't want to blind people on the highway and I want the best looking lights I can get as well as the best view. So please, any help would be greatly appreciated and please don't hesitate to PM or AIM me.

My AIM is ferullo0.

Thanks and have a happy New Year everyone!

Are 2001 Pontiac Bonneville replacement headlights the same headlights as I have on my car now?

I noticed on my current headlights that the word Bonneville is engraved on the inside. Will that be the same for a "replacement headlight"? I'm going to buy new lights, I want the same EXACT ones .

as far as i know ALL 00-05 headlights are identical, i am unaware of any aftermarkets available to the public.. the engraving is on the lense itself, and could easily be swapped if a replacement happened to not have it

Nobody seems to be interested.

I'm trying to see if I can have one of those places do a retrofit for me.

the problem is that there are only 2 people that i know of on the forum who have done it so far. Many people including myself have plans for the project (hence the spare lights at my house). That makes it tricky to develop a how-to guide. And especially with all the different designs of projectors.

Since aftermarket projector headlights aren't available for the bonnies, you're going to be stuck with hacking apart your OEM headlights to fit the projectors in. Definatley check out HID Planet for some pictures and guides for retrofitting. I'm lucky enough to have projector headlights available for my Jeep, so I just took out the crappy H3 projectors and put in a set of Bosch E46 projectors. Wan't too difficult, and yielded good results. Of course, Now I'm looking at a new design of headlights that just hit the market for the WJ'*. Contemplating getting a set of them.

You would be the second to retrofit a 00+ i believe....
So you pretty much have to do it your own way.
