Cody.. if you don't understand something..please ask. You are not the only one wondering,....I'm sure.

55W/85W/100W this is the Watts, same as a household lightbulb. 100W gives you good light, 120W lights up that room good and 25W is pathetic.

12V means 12 volts of power. All newer (over 1970) american cars to my knowledge run on 12 volt direct current (DC) electrical systems. therefore you can't use a standard household light bulb designed to run on 120 volts Alternating current (AC) in your car.

Thanks Bill, I knew what 12V was, I was just using that as a example.

In relation with driving lights and fog lights, and not to hijack Ryan'* thread. Can you go too bright? Or should I say too hot?

Too bright ..yes.. you blind people. Aka..why I don't use my driving lights right now. 100W was too much for most driving.

100Watts is to mutch for stander hoseings, but with projectors... you can do it if there good ones.

Actually Dr. Bandit... it'* not the amount of light output, it'* how the reflector sends it out..

My housings create large round circles of light.

Yeah that’* what I ment, But for the most part, if you arnt using projectors… using high wattage bulbs in a housing ment for 55watts will be brighter but will throw more glare.

But yeah, some driving lights or Fog lights with out projectors do throw a good pattern so that they don’t blind people.

Im also looking for some big round projectors for driving lights, but its hard to find some that are big to fill the stock whole..
