another $5 tint job, how to. VIDEO!
so as many of you probably remember, i did a thread on this a while backoriginal thread.
as a matter of fact i originally did my taillights over a year ago. not one issue even with the snow brush in the harsh chicago winters. while i was in chicago this past weekend lauren (the gf) asked me if i had any of the tint i did mine with left, and ofcourse i did. i keep everything lol. and she all but begged me to do her taillights. so i decided what the hell ive got nothing else to do all day.
to be honest, if you asked me to do it again id refuse. these taillights look ungodly easy, even on the car in person. but you start putting the film over them and you realize how concaved they really are. it was a nightmare with peel and cling as opposed to sticky back stuff.
heres a bunch of pics. ill try to narrate what the are as best i can.
before
the taillight before tinting
after its all done and trimmed up
ended up needing the gf'* hairdryer to bend over the loose edge... and because of the concavity i was forced to redneck it a bit with lots of little pieces of duct tape. you cant see it unless you remove the taillight though. not even with the trunk open.
one done and installed
both done and installed
brakes on. i left the center light on the wing, that way the cops have absolutely nothing to bitch about. the tint is legal but i did that just to deter the cops from hassling us. i did the same to mine.
both cars. all matchy lol.
my car makes hers look like a toy mine is so big lol.
and before any of you say anything, i refuse to drive hondas lol.
here is the youtube instructional-ish video for any of you interested in doing this.

yea, with peel and cling its a bitch to cut though because in order to get a good seal, no bubbles and all you have to stretch it slightly. so i was afraid of cutting it and it stretching out and enging up being alot bugger than i cut it lol. plus to be perfectly honest i cant stand her car and i didnt think it was worth that much effort. hence the half assed duct tape fix lol. honda reliability my ***. it killed her battery, it fouls out sparkplugs, needs a new cat converter, and every belt including the timing belt is cracking.
