S10 grill makeover

Finally got around today to do something about my grill. I don't know if it came from the factory like this or if the paint came off.

Either way, it got painted.

I used Rustoleum's Paint for Plastic Satin black for this project.

That looks awesome! I've never used that plastic paint. Was there any special prep you have to do first? I'd like to spruce up the grill in our '93 K series Blazer Sport (in the sig background) and that might be the way to go.

For new plastic, I think it said to wipe it with acetone(to open up the pores) clean and then spray. For mature plastic, wash with soap and water, rinse, dry and its ready to paint(which was my case)

I had purchased a can of clear coat also, but from the way it looks, I think I'll leave it.

havent seen plastic that looked like that before. looks much better now though

I agree Justin. My wife's 2000 Blazer obviously has the same grill, but looks nothing like mine did. Maybe they just had a bad batch of plastic. I dunno.

I just looked at the can again. For new plastic, use PAINT THINNER.

Also, 3 coats on just the grill used up about 95% of the can.
