grind or cut out all the rust.. make a patch panel....weld in the new patch panel...smooth out...paint the car

it should be known DO NOT bondo over the old rust

my buick had the same problem and so does my bonne and i just fixed it.

i sanded all the rust and got all the rust and coating i could get off and i bought a rust kiling primer and bought some underbody spray and i put 2 or 3 coats of underbody and to this day its holding up very good.

A possible fix for you guys would be to cut an old fender/wheel well area out..rivet into yours.. then underbody coating it to seal up. (if welder isn't available)

I just developed that same hole a couple months after I put 2 12" subs in my car....I figured I rattled the undercoating and rust out, but it sounds like it'* more common that I thought. I'd personally cut the rusted part out and weld in a new piece of steel, then spray with primer. Much better chance of preventing future rust.

my coating came off about 2 years ago. (before I had subs)

I think something punctured the coating on the road and then the metal began to rust. And it seperated the coating from the fender and continued to rust.
