Default 2004 GXP Gauges in my 2000 SLE?

Can I put 2004 GXP gauges in my 2000 SLE? I have read the past posts on the topic but most were wanting to put them into an SSEI which would require a boost gauge etc... So, is this possible? I REALLY want these gauges.

No, I hadn't read that one, thank you very much for the link. That seems like a headache but it looks like that was in January, how did it turn out for him? Do you think I could remove an overlay out of the bezel and place it in my current one or is it made into it? Could I use the face of the GXP bezel and use all of my current electronics? I don't know much about gauges except these look sweet! Thanks for the fast response.

I'm not sure since I don't have any experience with 00+, But I'm sure if you PM the author of that thread I believe it'* leftd90 and ask him, he'll reply to you or you could wait until morning where more people can help you.

But IIRC, the face does not separate, you'll have to get the cluster itself like the first pic in that thread.

no, you couldnt swap the overlays because the speedometer is displayed on a different scale

Thats ok, I am planning on buying a full unit. My only worry is with the gauges reading correctly. Do you know if the speedometer will be off and by how much? If so, how do I fix it? Sorry if these are elementary questions but this is new to me. I don't want to mess up what works so well but I would like the aesthetic upgrade.
Thanks, Grant

Yea, sorry about that, I just read it. I didn't read the 2nd page last night, stupid me. The second page helped alot but a few things were still fuzzy to me. It sounds like he used the whole GXP cluster, electronics and all. If I read it correctly his odometer now reads wrong? Does anyone know if I can use my existing electronics(sorry, don't know specifics) to get the correct odometer reading? He said that he didn't do this because he had lights burned out in his old cluster. Mine are ok so maybe this is a better choice for me? Sorry, don't really know any of the technical aspects of this cluster so I can't visualize what will and will not work.
Thanks again, Grant

Well I went ahead and bought the GXP cluster. Hopefully it will be here in a few days. I plan to install it over my spring break, without any hitches if I am lucky. My plan is to use all of the GXP parts except the DIC(I'll use my current one) so that I get the correct odometer reading, does this sound OK?

I dont think you will be able to use your DIC... maybe but that is something i am unsure of. If you can how many miles are on the GXP DIC i might be interested in it.

PM me details
