Default removing ventvisor tape

So the previous owner of my 01 ssei had taken off the ventvisors before selling it. But he couldn't remove the adheisive tape off the door trim. In his attempts he put some serious light scratches to the black pillars and somehow even cut a small notch out of the smaller one in between the back two windows. Ugh lol, well I tried some goof off I had sitting around on a small area but wouldn't do a thing. I had suggestions of accetone and adheisive removers but idk what would be the safest way to go about getting it off. I plan to do some buffing/polishing on the areas anyways so with that in mine any suggestions? Id rather not have to put new ones on I think it'll take the sleek look of the car away.

i had some luck with just spray auto windshield cleaner with window tint adhesive, maybe orange clean wipes, you dont want to use something to caustic you eat the paint

Never acetone, it will strip right down into the paint. I would use like Gunner or 90% rubbing alcohol lightly. General purpose adhesive removers may have things like acetone that will invade the finish.

yea thats good points, using turtle wax product or others seem more safe and the impala looks great, ill aim that way i suppose. ive never messed with acetone but i thought it sounded kind of extreme, thanks for the advice, if it ever stops raining here ill conquer it

NP. The only time I ever seen acetone used "wisely" on a car finish was to take fresh graffiti with spray paint off. Worked rather well, but they immediately washed the car and it had to be buffed out.
