Default Refinishing Rims

Hi guys,

Just in the process of refinishing up my crosslace rims, on my lathe. The clear coat had peeled off in a # of places, and had begone to oxidize. I have taken a before and after picture of the first rim. [3 more to go] Let me know what you think!

You do know you have 4 more of those rims to do besides the 3 that are left, right?

Looks awesome -if it'* not too hard to do I bet you can get a few people here lined up to have you refinish their wheels.

I have the same rims on my 1995 SLE SC as you have and they are starting to show their age. I would love to have them redone sometime this year so they will look great with the new paint next winter.

I started out with 80 grit cloth to remove the rest of the clear coat and corrosion, then 120, 220, 320 and then finally with aluminum polish. I think it looks pretty good. Took about 2 hours. Im debating whether to clear coat them again, or just leave them as is. I have the equipment and facilities to do that if I decide to.

Looks like I better not give anyone my address, or Im going to have a stack of rims to do!

Wow! They look great!

Did you paint the interior before you mounted them on the lathe? Even the inside part looks great. Nice work.
