Sheildpro is a good way to protect the front end from stone chip damage. |
Nice job on the colour...
Custom! look into Sheildpro, definitely worth it  |
LOL, can't forget that silly "u" !!!
and you like how I always end up starting a new page...*always* happens to me... ANYWAYS, back on topic, kinda... Jim, did you use Sheildpro on your beautiful white 'rora? :) |
Not yet...but the Bonneville was and my daddios Jetta was.
Better then a bra and it will protect that paint whatever Custom goes with  |
Still not sold on it, i don't like the idea of a ridge.....

Looks like it's between stock and the cherry (ruby red) color. I'm looking to get it painted around june or july. The paint job in total is going to cost me around $1,200. Not too shabby. It's through my mechanic who does an awesome job on body repairs too. He painted my LeSabre for really cheap and it turned out like it did from the factory. I'd rather go cherry than black myself because then I wouldn't have to change the inner doors inside of the trunk, etc. Thanks for all the input everyone. :) I'll have to look at that hood protector. also, I decided to go with a stage 1 paint job because it's more resistant to chipping paint than base coat/clear coat (stage 2).

Wow!! I gotta make up my mind  My front end on my 97 is full of little tiny very annoying white chips (they really show when taking a pic w/ flash :x ) Maybe next... summer?... when I get her repainted I'll look into this shield pro. In the meantime I'd like to put "shields" on my 91  Depending on avail and cost. But back on topic..... Paint that Riv black..... I think you'd love it. And do that shield pro stuff Jim was talking about. Yes black is a lot of work to keep clean.... but it looks awesome and deadly. And to all those who say "black is flat in light".... "black cars look better in the shade" anyways. ;) |

Nifty.... it's made by 3M.
There's a 3M Trimline just up the street from where I work... I should pop in to see if they can do it. Any idea on cost? (This looks like a good idea Custom88, why spend all that money on a paint job and not protect it) |
Cost me under 50 bux for the headlamps, but they can do almost and part that curves out or projects, I'm sure a COMPLETE job will run maybe 2 bills....my dad spend $150 on his Jetta and they did his headlamps a blue tint, his side markers, mirrors and hood.
I have met John Cookson, he did our cars, I'm calling him this spring to come back out and do my Aurora |
