I just switched out my foglights, and halfway through the process I figured I might post here about it. I took some pictures!

This stock foglight was bad, but the other one was all right.


I don't appreciate the stock mounting method. Two plastic pushpins hold the foglight, and there'* a screw on the back for adjustment. I like to do it the easy way: Use screws so for each adjustment you need to take out the light to move it. Hooray for Wal Mart.

The "Burners" seem to fit...


Actually, they don't. The tabs from the stock mounting bracket interfere with the lights.


This is where I stopped taking pictures and "fixed the problem." Now come pictures of the lights mounted.



This last picture I took is of the lights perfectly aligned, or so it seems, but the angle of the camera makes it seem awry.


That'* my morning. I spent some time looking around for a better way to connect the lights, but I had to stick with splicing the stock wires into the foglights' wires. I'll get pictures of this soon, but I am too lazy to do that now. I feel like i've done enough, having had to find another way to mount the lights and all. They're good, though.

Your topic title is a little misleading. I don't think you modified your lights. You changed them in the same manner most of us do.

You should be happy with the increased light. What'* the reflector design? Parabolic? Or modified? They look parabolic (leave a round spot in the far field). You'd probably be happier in the long run with a modified reflector that casts a wide strip of light. Your install looks good though.

I couldn't stand my stock lights. They were past worthless with years of sandblasting.

Thanks for the positive responses. I changed the topic title. I figured it was modification because of one little part - I didn't remove the base for the stock foglights, so I can go back to them whenever I want.

I wanted to increase my lights' brightness, but bulbs were upwards of $20 each, and Wal Mart had that pair of "Burners" [herein "Burners" (herein "Burners")] for what 1 bulb costs. I can't see any way to get in to the assembly to change the bulbs, and I don't know which bulbs they are, so I can always just buy more Burners if the bulbs go out. It'* effectively $10/bulb, and they're really bright.

Also, they leave a ringy light a ways away from the car, but I find the effect negligible because they illuminate enough.

All of us keep the stock mount.

I've got those same lights in my car, and a spare set for the same reason. They are cheap enough that it'* a lot easier to just put in a new assembly than bother with bulbs...

I've been driving with these for some time now, and it really is a whole lot easier to see things at night. The previous lights were a shame as compared to these. They're such an awesome upgrade, and they're extremely bright. I can't really see any ring far away or anything because I aimed the lights low enough to shine just under the headlights, and now I have a huge road view instead of a bright one. I'll take a picture one night to show you this. It'* completely worthwhile.

I actuallly put the same on my 00 ssei and dont like them at all for lighting. They look great but even after adjusting multiple times they dont seem to reach out , so to speak, very far. Maybe since I had to modify the mount and they are only about in inch in the hole the light spread to much and doesnt get projected/reflected from the bumper enclosure. They do look alot better than stock though.
