Default what to use on windshield...?

Well my windshield is the original and it has millions of tiny minute rocks marks on it, if you wash it really good, and get out into the sun you can see all the little marks, makes it look like its dirty..and also there is grooves etched into the windshield that im guessing is from crappy wipers with metal exposed.
Is there any kind of buffing compound i can use on this? Or basically do I have to live with it?
Thanks

Mine is basically the same way. Lots of sand pits and stuff in mine. I saw a buffing kit in JC Whitney a while back I believe. Some kind of buffer that you put on a drill and it takes out mild scratches and stuff. I just found the link.

i'd say your screwed like me....drving 75+ freeway miles everyday beats the hell out of my windshield, headlights, driving lights, and hood.

hopefully you have full replacement for a windshield on your insurance like me!

my insurance doesn't cover glass, its like an extra 20 bucks a month, so basically no one has it up here. If someday i decide to i will replace it...
Also im gunna take a look into that buffer, sounds like it might work..

Do you have a HUD? Those are different windshields. It may cost more to replace.

Here are your options:

1. Claim it on your insurance if you can. Call and check.

2. Get a non-hud ws, and ask the glass company to apply the optical coating to just the area the Hud reflects on. Much cheaper.

3. Use this: http://www.ppg.com/gls_aquapel/about.htm It'* the best product out there. It may take a couple coats to fill all the pits, but it could help. You'll have to get it from a local glass dealer. I have used it, and I swear by it for repelling water.
