Default Safe to use regular spray paint for calipers??

I ask because I'd like to use the "chrome" spray paint on my calipers. I just worry about it being able to hold up to the heat. Any thoughts or experience?? Thanks.

Joe.

It actually could turn burnt looking before going up in flames. Can actually burn if the temps gets hot enough.

I dont auto-x the car or anything like that, should it be ok for regular daily driving? I was just going to do a couple of base coats of the chrome and follow it up with a couple coats of clear as well. What do you think?

I think your rotors get extremely hot. Regular paint can burn. AutoX has nothing to do with it.

That'* what I used to paint the rotors on my old '95 Trans Am, hi-temp engine paint, it held up great. I just didnt want to use red again, or even silver. I just wanted a little more "bling" for it to stand out. I guess I'll have to settle for silver then, huh? Well, booooo.

There are other choices out there if you look. When I finally get around to doing mine, this is what I'm going to use:

http://wheelskin.com/Merchant2/merch..._Code=G2+Green
http://wheelskin.com/Merchant2/merch...t_Code=G2+Gold

Green if I find a good set of ghetto golds, gold, if I wind up sticking with the silver or go to different wheels.

Those guys have a bunch of different colors. Even purple!
