Newer Buick wheels
I would like to put 16x6.5 aluminum wheels from a 1998 or so Lesabre on my 1990, which has 14x6 steel wheels and hubcaps on it now.
My questions are, will they fit, will they look "right", and what will happen to ride and handling with a change of this size? The wheels I am considering are in this picture http://a332.g.akamai.net/f/332/936/1...bre.1423-E.jpg matt |
I have those wheels on my '98 LeSabre, and let me tell you, those 15-slots are a b*tch and three quarters to keep clean from brake dust in the fronts.
I'm going to ceramics soon...hopefully that will keep them from needing a pressure washing twice a week. I have no idea about fitment on a 1990, sorry. What size are your current tires? |
My current tires are 205/75/14. I really would like to ditch the 14's because they squeal horribly around the slightest turn, although that may be caused by the tires I have. I would want to go with 225/60/16 on these wheels. Do you think the wheels look appropriate on your Lesabre?

They will fit your car and should be fine. I don't think they changed during that time.

matt Though I personally prefer the look of more "spoked" wheels, the older LeSabres don't have rear calipers to "show off," so what the heck. The 15-slots are certainly appropriate-looking, since some 99% of LeSabres I see of that age with aluminums have these wheels :P They look OK (when clean, that is  ): http://momentoffame.com/photopost/data/523/Side.JPG http://momentoffame.com/photopost/da...ar_quarter.JPG http://momentoffame.com/photopost/da...nt_quarter.JPG |
How about wheels from a 2000+ Lesabre....will they fit my car?

yes they should fit and don't forget the park avenue 1990 had 15 inches wheels and it the same body
