Everyone'* favorite chrome paint
My sister'* boyfriend'* job is not yet clear to me, but it has to do with a Ferd dealership'* body shop. He'* not a grease monkey, and he doesn't actually do physical work. However, he'* in touch with everything that happens and all the products they use.
They have a black primer/base paint system that is sprayed over with some stuff that'* $300 per pint, which is actually before spraying mixed with a ton of "stuff" to make the final product be a compressor-pushed spray paint which goes on like chrome. Reportedly, the finish makes anything it touches actually chrome covered.
What the heck is this stuff? Why does it cost so much?

He could... I really assumed he could. Said boyfriend told me that the dealership is trying something "new" and really cool, so it might be widespread news.

Alsa corporation in CA http://www.alsacorp.com/ makes this system, or I think they originated it. They specialize in many high tech specialty coatings like this. They have a chrome coating that is far cheaper (killer chrome in cans), but it'* not a 100% chrome look, but it'* very close. Oh, that chrome paint...it'* not for metal only. It works on plastics, and it'* somewhat flexible. Pretty neat stuff.
Look at the cars they've done with this system. An entire car in chrome is cool or crap depending on how much you like chrome. They also do colors too. Like red chrome, etc.
Yea, it'* expensive stuff, but nothing much on the market like what these guys have developed. And the temperature sensitive paint is really slick.

Well, you guys have given me a good set of useful links. Thank you very much! My chrome thirst has been quenched, but still feel free to post more links if you come across any.
