Default HID the proper way (i think) (56k no no, updated pics)

Hi, i heard about this site from a co-worker and finally decided to drop by. I've been doing a lot of research on HID lights for my 94 Bonnie and came to the conclusion that putting HID'* in a car with out projectors is a waste of time. The glare and light pattern from the headlights are unbearable and just plain illegal (not to mention i hate seeing other vehicle on the road with drop in kits that basically blind everyone on the road.

Now I really want/need HID since the stock light output is crap. So went and got myself some HID projectors from a FX-35 and a D2S HID kit. So far I've been able to get the projectors fitted properly so that they can be adjusted via the stock adjustment screws. Only problem is i can't seem to figure out the best way for making a lens for it. So i was hoping I can get your idea'*, see pic'* below (not shure of the size limit for photos here I'll just link them for now):

still needs a little touching up, but for now i'm more concerned about getting a lens made, i've tried using lexan but it doesn't take shape very well, they way i was trying to fit is was by forming plexi glass over the lens. The projector already sticks out more than 2 inches longer than the stock glass lens. so i want to get the lens as close as possible to the projector.

Post the pics in your message, not the links. Just click once on the IMG code for the pic in your Photobucket page, you'll see a little yellow message that says "Copied". Paste that in the body of your message. Repeat for each pic.

sure, gimme a lil bit, i'll need to setup the ballast n stuff. I just finished setting up the wiring for the actuator that controls the hi/low beam. Now all thats left is making a clear lens for it, that probably going to be the hardest part.

m'kay, so i got the lens finished, then after mounting it on the car I smashed it with my hammer, you'll see why in the pics. Now to do Version 2.0 for the lens.

some more pics (cut off, hid kit):

low beam (D2S bulb 4300k)

High beam actuator motor energized (basically lifts up the cutoff)

Ballast (supposed to be a remarked hella, frankly i don't care since it works beautifully)

Epic Fail (acrylic lens, did not come out as I dreamed it would)

More Epic Fail (again, still kicking myself in the nuts for making something this ugly)

thats it for now, going back to the drawing board, hopefully I can get a new lens put together by next week. Also found out that the projector lens high beam actuator is also used for auto leveling the lights. So i can probably hook it up so that i can control the headlight level from inside the car. Got to tinker with it more.

try this

http://www.izntrbl.com/

Go there, he is kind of a pain to work with sometimes, cuz he'* VERY hard to get ahold of...but if you still have your factory lenses, you can send them to him and he'll make you a clear version..great quality!!!
