I got 20" rims with 265 wide tires. I installed them 2 day ago & have been driving the car.
The tires do rub on the plastics. But here is the thing, in one side I have SLE plastics & on the other side SE plastics. The SLE has more clearance so it only rubs in one side, on the SE it rubs both sides. Dont know if its clear without pics, but my camara got stolen. I will borrow one & take pics to show where the problem is.
Other than the slight rub of the tires, no more problems that I can see. & the car looks beautiful, specially from the front. it looks so wide.

thats strange, I know Se'* come with 16'* and SLE'* and Ei'* come with 17'* but why would GM make two different size wheel well covers?

Yeah...but it only matters how large the tires are, not the wheels.

225/60R16 and 235/55R17s are only different by the 17s being 0.8" larger in diameter.

Just like for example...265/70R17 is the same as 305/40R22, 5 inch larger rim, same diameter tire.

No, doesn't explain the rubbing more or less, maybe just stying of a more relaxed curvature, a more, open wheel well on the SLE/SSEi trim than the perfect wheel well on the SE trim.

When I got the car It was missinge the drivers side cover, because the car had been crashed on that side. The only Bonne I could find on a junker in PR was an SE, & I assumed that the piece should be the same. On installation I noticed that the piece dont fit a 100%, a couple of the screw holes dont match & at the bottom the plastic is closer to the tire. Thats the explenation why I have 2 diffrent covers on my car.

Now for the pics. This is how the rim looks on the car. I want to lower the car at least 1" & I know nobody makes a kit for my car. I guess I have a new project on my hands.


This is the passenger side. It only rubs on the towards the door.


Now, on the drivers side it rubs on both sides.



Ive been driving the car like that for a couple of days, Im going to wait a couple more days, then Ill take the covers out cut out the area where the rubbing ocours & remoulded so that it dosnt rub & is closed to protect the car & the air filter.

Silverbullet had that one spot (3rd pic down) on his 2k running his drag radials. You'd be surprised to find out how expensive that piece is to replace.

the rims looks freaking sweet.

the splash guards are only like $20 from the dealer.

I dont plan on replacing, cut & paste is the solution here.
