paint help
I'm working on some custom tweeter pods for my 01 SE. I started by wrapping the part in fleece, then body filler, then I sanded it with 80 grit, 150 grit and then 400 grit (wet) to smooth it all out. Then I used a dry 600 grit sheet to scuff it a bit. Cleaned it with alcohol and then primered it with three coats of flexable surface primer spray from sem, waited an hour for it to dry and then sprayed it with sem gloss black paint. I did two coats and let it sit and dry. The problem is by the time I went to paint it, it was midnight and I was doin it outside by porch light. I overlooked some pinholes and runny lines. It'* not any major flaws but I'm very particular about my work and my car is gonna be used for demos. How can I fix the run lines and pin holes? Do I have to sand it all down again and start from scratch or is there another way. Please help me guys!

Get some 2000, or 2500 grit and wet sand them down. You can fill the pin holes with finishing glaze, it comes in a tube. You will then need to give it another coat when done. You may want to consider getting a small HVLP spray gun and using 2 part primer and paint. Better coverage and a lot stronger surface.

I'm not sure if this matters as much with spray paint, if thats what your using, but I've heard its not a good idea to paint at night because the higher humidity will cause the paint to "blush"
my buddy did some touchup on his dad'* DTS at night and the black cherry paint turned out more like a cherry paint

For the runs you can get a stright blade razor and hold it perpindicular to the paint and pull towards you. This will scrape the high spots down level with the rest of the paint
