M62 polishing?
Is it possible? Just curious...not even sure what the coating is on it.

the case itself?
I wouldnt, its coated with heat transfer paint, it allows the casting to breath really well...less heat...less KR...less KR..happier butt dyno! |

Andrew, that's exactly what I wish mine looked like! It would go so well with the rest of my engine bay. :(

Way to make the moderator jealous :P

the M62 has the "paint" and it supposed to be a thermal transfer....I would NOT remove it

For a full polish you'll probably need to sand many times, then keep polishing like you would metal, dremel or some air tools may help..
|
On the M90, if you do polish it, it will corrode. It's only a matter of time.
As mentioned, the coating on the M62 is designed as a thermal transfer medium. Don't remove it, and don't re-paint it. |
If you want to polish so badly..
Polish the inside! |
