Looking for a new wax
 

Been hearing some great things about a wax that's sorta the next big thing. It's called S100, or S21s depending on where you get it. They're both the same, but S100 is at HD dealers for almost $10 less.

I want a Carnuba wax, polymers don't give the same depth IMO, Zaino/LG is just a sealant and doesn't give great depth. Depth of the purple pearl paint is amazing, and i'm going all out within the next month here.

I have a ROB (made by porter cable, but with a McGuires sticker on it) with variable speeds, and I do prefer to use that.

Any other recommendations for a high quality wax? I'm trying to get away from the mass market brands into higher quality stuff.

EDIT: Should be mentioned i'll be using either 3m polish/scratch remover, or the meguiars deep crystal polish i already have before.

I haven't used it, but I've read that the P21S is some good stuff. For your dark car I would recommend checking out Nattys Blue, Pinnacle Souveran Paste or Max Wax. They are all rated very highly for dark colors. The Souveran is pretty pricey at $80 a jar, but the other two are very reasonable. I have Nattys Blue myself, but haven't had a chance to really give it a good once over on mine. I just started polishing last week and so far have the front and the roof done, with a layer of Nattys Blue. I really want to get the entire car done before I make the final determination of how I like it, plus the weather has been so crappy I have yet to see it clean outside. What some people will do to get the depth is to put on a layer of sealant like a Zaino for the durability, and then top with a layer or two of wax.

One other recommendation I will give is for XMT Glaze. Being my car is black, and seemingly has very hard clear since I'm having trouble removing all the scratches, I used this glaze and was very pleased with the way it helped cover up the scratches. I put a layer of it down, and then a layer of the wax. Once I get the car finished, I plan to add another layer of wax.

I've used that for about 2-3 years now, it's good, but it's very hard to take off the excess with a towel when you're done (not always a bad sign)but I doubt it doesn't have as much carnuba as other nicer waxes.

I would rather not wax my car than fight that stuff.

I, personally, have become a mothers fan but I would not be supprised if there are better out there.

I always used the s1000 stuff on my motorcycles and it was first class.
For the car I like Meguiers Gold Class also.

I found last year that prep is definitely the key to a good looking finish. Definitely use your 3M polish and get the finish looking good, and just about any wax will look great. I used Gold Class, and after trying a couple boutique waxes won't be going back. That stuff was a pain to remove, didn't last long, and doesn't look as good.

I use and love Zymol, however it too can be a bit tough to remove at times, but it lasts a long time and does a great job for me

Yea, the boutique stuff is where it's at. You definitely get what you pay for.

I want to try some of those waxes this year and seal em with LG to see how it looks. If I didn't have so much LG on hand I would try some sealants from Pinnacle or Wolfgang.

Sol if you meant put LG on top of the wax, you cannot do that. Sealants do not bond well at all with waxes. You can put a wax on top of LG, but not the other way around. The LG will also probably take off the wax when you put it on.
