Yes, I was talking about this project with Boosty when he did his first one. If I understood him right, it'* about half the total thickness of the lense material.

The die grinder idea might work, but it'* gonna take an exremely steady hand to keep from going too deep, or leaving visible marks.

The area where the Pontiac was kindly made thicker than the rest. When you cut it open you will see the retangular area...yep..that'* where the Pontiac is located.

Off the top of my head..I'd say it'* about 1/4" thick. The sanding drums do a very effective job of melting the plastic and making a smelly mess that is harder to remove in the end. I tried that first. Then I found (thanks Rob) the dremel cutting tools.. and they remove the material without melting it at reasonable speeds. Took the total project time way down.

A steady hand I have, but I guess I'll decide once I get it apart. I'm surprised Pontiac didn't do this from the factory. It'* a great lookin mod!
