Default I have a hood scoop confesion

I'm coming out of the hood scoop closet, I used to think I wouldn't want a scoop unless it was functional. But the imitation ones that grace the hoods of Handruman and Danthurs' rides are growing on me. I know there is a lot of flack to be had for sporting one, but I think the look cool.

IMO, they fall in the same catagory as the tail on our cars. Some like them and a few prefer the "naked" look.

While I like our cars the way they came, I also like some of the various looks that people here have created. This includes the functional hood vents like Bill Wren'* and the scoops like Handruman'*. When it'* done with some taste, I see it as personalization of your ride.

And driverjohn'* vents. His actually show the 'complete' look and functionality, as his are complete with paint and mine still are not. Functional though. Very much so.

Although I wonder if you could make one of those plastic hood scoops functional or if it would be too much of a hack job... :?

Do you mean functional as in intake air for the engine or functional as in forcing air into the engine bay for cooling purposes?

Pretty much anything can be done and done well with the right amount of talent, money, and desire.

I know Dave has talked about making his scoops functional or getting other scoops fabricated and added to the hood to be functional.

both, but I'm more interrested in just bringing air in for cooling. I think I could handle that under taking, but I'm afraid to hack it up. I'm seriously thinking of attempting it.
as far as being functional for air intake, that would take some fabbing that I'm not sure I would be up for.

I thought you could buy the scoops Dave has in a functional version also.

I have never looked into it but I guess you should take a look.
