Default Concerns about pressure washing the engine bay

I have never had a problem covering up the alternator and coils on my other cars but I noticed the 00 has a fuse panel/fuseable link panel of some sort where the battery should have been. Is it pretty water proof? any other precautions that need to be made before I pressure wash the **** out of the 00?

No worries. That thing is pretty much water proof.

Cover the alt and abs module with plastic shopping bags, kinda stay away from direct spray around the TB and maf.

While I haven't pressure washed yet.. I use cleaner and the regular hose...

Which.. summertime pressures are around 60-80psi.. Nothing gets covered. Remember..in the rain..water gets everywhere under your hood

Exactly why I stopped covering stuff when I wash my engine, first couple of times I did it to my Bonneville I was nervous as a squirrel on crack and would cover the Alt, Baterry, Coils. Then I realized how wet my Jeep'* engine gets when I go through water.

I leave the engine running when pressure washing it, and don't cover anything. However, I don't aim directly for the alternator, or any other major electrical components.

And, before I take the pressure washer to it, I coat everything with Simple Green Engine Degreaser. Then, pressure wash it after the Simple Green has sat for a couple minutes. You'll be very impressed with the results.
