How do you remove pinstriping?

I want to eventually remove the Pinstriping on my car but I dont know how or what to use. Anyone have a good way to do this?

C'mon over..Pete has done his before and will be in attendance.

I think all you do is gently go at it with a heat gun.

I thought it may involve a heat gun. I just wasnt sure, and im not all that trusting on Goo be gone on painted surfaces.x

Goo Gone.. and I've personally used it on my own car. Not to worry. It's Goof Off you never want near anything you even remotely like.

99% of chemicals will not hurt your clear coat, paint has come a long way in the last 20 yrs, when the clear coat was much more fragile...

ive used goo gone a number of times on my own cars, and ive never seen any damage caused by it.

Yeah, the heat works but if the stripes are old it's really annoying to get them off. That's why I just put my new stripes over the old ones.

Acetone and a soft plastic edge or fingernail. A few inches at a time. If it gets cloudy in a few spots, just a light buff with a cleaner.

Eastwood makes a rubber wheel that you chuck into a drill and it rubs off the stripe like an eraser. Works well. I've seen them used in various body shops.
